Mattox came right out and introduced himself and made us feel welcome. There was another lady there as well, but I don’t believe she mentioned her name, but she was nice and helpful too. The scenery on the ride was not anything spectacular. But we enjoyed the quiet when we were away from the workings of the lumber mill and salvage yard. It was Mattox’s first trip as a guide going solo. No problems. The only issue we had was not knowing that the place to meet them was in the park. Not the vendor’s fault that our GPS took us a bit further than our destination. If our email would have indicated to pull into the park, then we would not have had to call the number provided. Maybe we were too early before the sandwich board sign could get put out. A strong wind could knock the sign down, so adding the park would be a big help to us.

My daughter and I enjoyed the railride very much. Our guide was very courteous, knowledgeable of the rail lines previous history. Also Coquille’s Lumber mill, and the landscape. Thank you, Karla & Cheri Cameron

We enjoyed the rail ride and information Spree shared on the way down. Spree was very welcoming and made sure all the riders were doing well. The only suggestion we have is the bathrooms at each end need to be stocked with soap/hand sanitizer. Thanks

Although some of the rail route was along highway 42, the majority was far enough away that the traffic noise didn’t interfere with the enjoyment of the ride. I loved the chance to go alongside a working mill and see some of the operation. We were blessed to view a snowy egret take off from the marsh land and a kestrel flying overhead. I was pleased that the route included some downhill stretches as well as uphill but none that were too strenuous. With four of us pedaling, no one was worn out at the end. Thank you for opening up this rail line and giving us the opportunity to enjoy it!!

It was so much fun! Went with 3 of my friends, none of us are in the best shape but we had a blast and felt great doing it. The guides are fun and knowledgeable and make the trip a great experience. I can’t wait to go again!

Good clean fun. Crossed rivers and streams. Crossed a train bridge that was built in 1901. Saw a bald eagle. Awesome family time.

We really enjoyed the scenery on our tour. And it was really neat that they actually got to make the railroad crossing flash and ring for us to cross! Thanks for everything!

While vacationing in the area we came across the OC Railriders FB page. Being a huge fan of anything railroad related we just had to do this. We were met by an enthusiastic crew of young folks who briefed us, got us loaded and headed down the line from Bay City to Tillamook. We volunteered to have the opportunity to be on a faster car and was placed in the last car for the trip out. We rode in the car with Kat who’s part of the crew assisting customers along the way as needed and helping to see us get across the street crossings safely. We chatted with Kat during our trip finding her to be a very personable person full of area knowledge. She was a blast to ride with. For the return ride home we were the lead car which was awesome. By the time we returned to the ‘station’ our legs were pretty cranky to say the least but so worth the adventure. Thanks Kat and the entire OC Railriders crew for an awesome experience!!
