Keys to a Successful Railbike Ride
A Joy Rails railbike tour is a unique experience combining independent pedal activity on retired railroad tracks with awe-inspiring views of nature. We want all riders to experience a safe, relaxing, and memorable railbike adventure. Read more about our rules and requirements to ensure you and your guests are well-prepared for your Joy Rails railbike tour.
-
Joy Rails relies on a fleet of specially designed, four-wheeled quadricycles that are easy to ride for all ages. The quadricycles are made of aluminum and polyurethane wheels, making them excellent at gliding along the track, although it still takes some effort, about half of bicycling. Each cycle allows up to four riders. Adjustable seatbelts and pedals make setup quick and easy.
-
Small children who cannot reach the pedals must ride in a car seat (arrive 30 minutes early so we can attach it.) No lap riding.
-
Plan to arrive at the departure station 20 minutes prior to the beginning of your tour.
