Joy Rails 2024 Season Wrap-Up

As the leaves turn to shades of gold, we must bid farewell to our Coquille rail rider tour until next Spring. The end of a season is always a little bittersweet, but wow, what a first year we had as Joy Rails! September 15 was our last day of operations for 2024. Here’s a brief 2024 Season Wrap-Up for Joy Rails and our Coquille location.

For those new to our Coquille rail riding tour, it’s only been a few months since Joy Rails purchased the business from Oregon Coast Railriders. Its new owner, an avid rail rider himself, enthusiastically embarked on this opportunity in early 2024 to build on OCR’s success and provide a unique outdoor experience people could enjoy either solo or with a large group of friends.

Our team of rail guides share a passion for the Coquille landscape, from witnessing the wildflowers bloom in the Spring to the transitioning pattern of wildlife throughout the Summer. Soon, the water levels in the Coquille Valley Wildlife Area will rise and cover part of the tracks, so the team must take a hiatus until next year.

As we prepared for our 2024 Season Wrap-Up, we were thrilled to see how many people visited us in Coquille this year. In Joy Rail’s inaugural season, we were pleased to host three tours daily (5 days a week) throughout the summer. Our guests ranged from young kids full of energy and excitement to pedal the lightweight cars on a real train track to retired individuals looking for a relaxing way to enjoy an afternoon outdoors. We were delighted to be a special part of all of their Summer plans.

If you didn’t get an opportunity to ride the rails this year, don’t fear! While it’s time for a 2024 Season Wrap-Up in Coquille, there are more opportunities in store for you!
